Gyruss PopMatters' Moving Pixels blog has a nice story that sheds some light on the beauty of good arcade conversions. Gyruss's arcade original was recently re-released on Xbox Live Arcade and has given Mike Schiller reason to contemplate on how great, and different, the NES port of Gyruss was.

Makes you think: how many other great console ports have been overlooked because they weren't "arcade perfect"?
