Start out with a left over piece of MDF already routed for another project who's ultimate design was changed, grab a laptop and some paper mache and you get an Asteroid Shaped Arcade Cabinet capable of playing about 16 or so games.
BYOAC regular dmworking247 is the brains behind this extremely unique looking and functional cabinet. In his thread, he described the project as "An "Asteroid" rock made out of paper mache and painted with two types of 'stone effect' spraypaint, hosting a stripped down laptop/LCD with a 5 button configuration (left/right games only).
It also features function buttons (power, credit, p1 start, p2 start (which I might change to a pause key), and ESC), can be run on the laptop battery, and weighs a less than 5kg (tbc)." I'm not a MAMEY judge, nor do I play one on TV, but it would seem to me that this is definitely worth honorable mention in the cabinet category.
