If I ever accumulate enough cartridges, discs, games, hardware, etc., I'm sure my wife would have me committed.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's truly a feat of unnatural ability to be able to collect so much gaming 'stuff' that you have to have discussions on how to store it.  Heck, I can't even get one wall filled, let alone enough to require shelving for multiple gaming systems.
